UPDATE
STARTING OUT - setting up the shop:

An incredible amount of work has transpired since the start of the project. I've fashioned a dozen different jigs to cut diagonal mortise and tenon joints, 5 ft x 3 ft raised panels, square pegs, etc.
Well finally this week , all of a sudden, the fruits of our labors, mine and my hard working friend Drew, have come to the point where they're finally apparent. Hence, I share.
OUR WOOD PILE - 4 FEET WIDE, 3 1/2 FEET HIGH WHICH
WE MOVED OVER TO THE PIPE PLATFORM WE'D BUILT

Everyone is thrilled, including myself. Working with beautiful 1 and 1/8 inch thick by 12 inch wide cypress boards salvaged from a 180 year old home washed away by Katrina is particularly rewarding, especially for an "old wood" lover as myself. Drew and I just sit back some days and simply marvel at the beauty unfolding that we have the privilege of working to display. What a treat. (Please click on photos to enlarge)
LAYING OUT THE MORTISES TO BE CHOPPED:

SOME TENONS DYING TO BE CONNECTED AND PEGGED:

PROGRESS! AT LAST MORTISE AND TENONS GLUED AND PEGGED:

AND FINALLY THE FRAMES IN PLACE WITH THE RAISED PANELS:

MATCHING CLOSET DOORS ARE NEXT (FOR IN THE SPACES)

HERE I AM, PROUD DADDY.....with my 9 ft tall baby

A LITTLE BEFORE AND AFTER:

Now, on the other end of the bedroom, we have basically the same process going on - 2 more matching closets. Within 2 (of the 4 total closets), identical built in chests of drawers, as well as entertainment centers will be built. Two book cases will grace each of the 2 entries into the bedroom as well. AND THIS MY FRIENDS, IS JUST THE FIRST BEDROOM!!!!

Hey Doc,
I cannot wait to see it in person, I am sure the pictures do not do it justice. It looks great. Wish I could afford you! :)
