15 SECONDS OF FAME

YUPP, It all came to pass as promised. The This Old House train rolled through New Orleans and the doctor was on it!! Equipped with his own microphone to boot!! Workin side by side with someone I truly respect - and after having spent a very entertaining afternoon and early evening, respect even more: Stormin Norm Abrams! A very generous, kind, down to earth guy, full of amusing stories and lots of talent.

It's exciting being in the limelight like that with camera people and directors all over, and having to get the loose framework of the action/dialogue to come across as loose and carefree, but tight. I noticed that Norm would deliver his lines a lot more crisply while jacking the tempo up a little faster than his normal conversational flow. So I adapted that technique to the lines I spoke and the director was VERY VERY satified!! Do I hear SPIN-OFF?!?!?!? LOL . It all worked out great. And I've got the t-shirt to prove it!! A New Orleans purple tee with a yellow fleur de lis on the back - special limited edition!
Well, back to reality....
Now that I've had my 15 seconds (really minutes) of fame, I can die peacefully 'cause anything after this is simply lagniappe!! Aint that right Boo?!?!
Here at last are the pics of me w/Norm and also Kevin O'Connor, the host of This Old House.

Comments:
