IN BUSINESS, IT'S CRITICAL TO DIVERSIFY
In a city such as New Orleans where people are much less likely to follow the dictums of Wall Street or Madison Ave business savants, its always refreshing to see someone who can carve a niche in the local economy and use the professional models of the big boys - but of course modified in that unique N'Awlins style.
What we're talking about here is diversification. If one business model doesnt suit you, or provide enough $$ to keep it all happening, then you need to think outside of the box and bring into play whatever it is that will keep things afloat. Here then is an entrepreneur who felt that either the bike parts needed a complementary business concept to augment street traffic, or maybe it was the formal wear rentals which obviously required the bike parts to complete the vision of the business plan.

THE RIVERBOATS HAVE LANDED

Here are a couple of photos of some unique architecture in New Orleans (located in the area of the devastated lower 9th ward. As it turns out paradoxically, homes nearest the river were the safest and fared the best). Note the pagoda style!!

These 2 separate beauties are located just beyond the Mississippi River right off the levee, but are still plenty tall enough to allow a view of the river. The interesting aspect about them is that they were, as I was told, built by steamboat captains as replicas of their actual captains quarters lodged on the top of their steamboats. The fact that their height affords visibility of the river, it's kind of like taking your job home with you. These guys are paid huge $$$ (850K/yr) so I guess they must really love their jobs.

partyin' hearty

My buddy Owen finished all his exams so we went out celebrating last night. His alternative motive was to see me get bombed 'cause apparently I always appear to "be in control".
Well, it worked - and as staggeringly out of control as I was, it had to have been quite a spectacle seeing me trying to help the O man back home after his face made cracking contact with the pavement.
Having no recollection of the whole incident, he woke up wondering if he'd pissed me off and I'd consequently nailed him lol.
