I realized listening to Bjork's music tonight that I really love her - her passion is infectious - I think I wanna marry her....oh dammmmn, i'm already hitched.....
oh well....
But on to more pressing concerns: my fingers are coming apart at the seams. except fingers dont come with seams so they've decided to go on their own and divide one painful eight of an inch at a time. And to add effluvium to the flame, all on a bunch of my fingertipss at the same time. So I crazy glued 'em (like I do every night).
The red dust from the padauk is creating tributaries within my fingerprints. I didnt know I had these miniscule canals intersecting my fingerprints til now - mini red streamlets. It's like an aerial photo of a litty itty bitty red river.
Moisturization is critical.
THE FLASH KIND OF WASHES OUT THE WARMTH OF THE WOOD'S COLOR (ABOVE, RIGHT) BUT ALSO GIVES YOU A HINT OF THE FIGURE THAT'S GONNA POP WHEN I HAND RUB SOME TUNG OIL ON IT

yeah bjork will make you crazy. i got real close to going to her 4th of july two years ago via ralph's sister and probably would have tried to steal her from matthew barney, who i can't stand.
padauk is a fun word. one of those words i heard as a child and never saw in writing. my dad used to make us memorize wood. i was bad at it, jared was good, the little boy genius. i like "lignum vitae" which now that i am older sounds like something sexual. is that how you spell it?

you must have spelled better than jared 'cause you nailed it after all these years. It means "long life" which comes from it being so hard bugs cant infest it, but which isnt nearly as deliciously decadent as it sounds

as far as you shelves go, believe it or not, the door and the drawer (which has been leaning against the side of the unit, which I cut years ago are guess what?? That's right - padauk. I forgot that til I ran across the little door in the old shop. But it's not as RED red as the new padauk. So we'll have to play with it and see what we can come up with.
