THE UNSPOKEN FEAR

When you see the deplorable way in which the "Government" handled Hurricane Katrina , you cant help but wonder if the same guys who were asleep at the wheel and who let people languish without food, water, and shelter arent also dropping the ball in Iraq.

Its real easy to get into a war situation without developing international support, but a lot more complicated to get out of it in an intelligent, efficient, and effective manner. Let's face it: "capable" is NOT an earmark of our current administration, and until the American Public wakes up to this harsh reality, I am afraid our boys in uniform will also be left languishing thousands of miles away without the administration even thinking of, no less working on, a way to get them home
.

Now as Geeee Dubblya talks about progress in Iraq, I realize he's obviously doing it to deflect criticism from the South, but he's got the upper hand in Iraq. There the media coverage is censored, exactly the opposite of what happened thru the last month in Dubya's real domestic failure: the media and not his PR machine was unleashed and reporting the truth!

GEEE DUBBLYA vs THE BLOW JOB

Well, as the now former head of FEMA has been laterally displaced and some sense of order is starting to regenerate in New Orleans, its time to inspect the real issue: Blow Jobs.

Seems to me that a large number of people, as a result of government negligence, were extensively and insensitively relegated to "refugee" status and subsequently ignored, neglected, and/or dismissed. People died unnecessarily. Innocent, poor Americans. I don't believe I have been as moved and as deeply disturbed by an American injustice in 30 years.

Now just a few years ago I remember a country deeply divided and on the verge of impeaching its president. The moral outrage was clearly expressed daily by the press, pundits, and opposing party leaders. A Special Prosecutor was selected to investigate the heinous crime and although the accused was never responsible, or even accused, of the demise of a single human being, the prospect of a married man receiving oral sex from a decidedly consenting single female partner was enough to send the country into an uproar.

Fast Forward back to August 2005:

Geeee Dubblya Vacation Time - estimated at approx. 20% of his time in the White House (for the math-impaired that would average more than 72 DAYS PER YEAR - pretty comfy for a man on whose watch there's a failed war which he's waging costing 100's of billions, plus runaway gas prices at the pumps plus an impending heating oil price spike as winter approaches).
Category 5 hurricane barreling for the coast.
Superdome's and N.O. Convention Center's incomprehensibly being ignored.
Death.
After day 2 of the Katrina debacle's unfolding, returns to Washington from vacation to "assess damage" - in other words, starts to set the "spin" cycle to the fabricate setting in order to clear his reponsibility/accountability.

These are not the actions of a man determined to aid and assist desperate and destitute families. Good people - real people, flesh and blood, dying people - black people.

I believe that these omissions of conscience, accomplishment, and decisiveness are conspicuously more indifferent to the plight of America's desperate than a president acquiring a blow job. I don't condone the former president's behavior, I merely call for the same obligation to bring to light and to justice, and in the same unrelenting manner, the callous behavior of a president whose personal indulgences outweigh his devotion to the sacred duty of protecting the lives of Americans everywhere, and I mean everywhere.

Addendum - A lot's been said in regard to the possible response there would have been had the events of Katrina taken place in a white middle class area.
I just wonder what the president's reaction time might have been had one of his investments, say, an oil field, been at stake in the Louisiana region. Would he have been on the phone with someone to secure the site? to batten down the hatches? to make certain that his investment was secure? I dont believe he would have had to WAIT for a call from his say, foreman to ask him what should be done.

The sad part of this whole story is that the president was so removed from the reality of his responsibilities, that he didnt even realize the human investment that these Americans were, and are. But that's his legacy now.

Prez Probes Prez

The headline reads:

"The president and Congress vow probes into the response to Hurricane Katrina".

What a frikkin joke.

I can already see Rove's final "spun" headline:

"It has been unequivocally demonstrated that in the face of Hurricane Katrina, Democrats across the country failed to mobilize rations, The National Guard, etc. because of weak voting in the last election, November 2004. Had they been more effective in their efforts to win the requisite votes and hence the Presidency, the House, and the Senate, troops and supplies would have been sent to flood states in record time. Unfortunately the blame must now be placed squarely on the shoulders of John Kerry and his democratic supporters across this entire country."

Damned Limp Wristed Bureaucrats

I'm not a big fan of Howard Stern - his antics are a little bit too 10th grade for my taste. Howard's penchant for potty mouthing and discussing anal sex on his show got him a whopping $495,000 fine a while ago from the FCC. I read the transcript - it was pretty much over the line for general public consumption.

But lets face it, when has Howard Stern EVER been held up as a representative of morality and good taste? Thats close, EH? I'm not mad at the FCC regarding it - They're just a bunch of uptight white guys because it's sex, and sex in America must be closely monitored.

Know what really has me extremely annoyed? Pat Robertson. Pat Robertson and the FCC.
Mr R represents himself as a religious leader. A Christian. A leader of Christians in America.
I was raised a Christian in America. I studied western religion in school. I've studied eastern religion. I know religion. I know religious leaders when I hear them. The Dalai Lama (thanks MeMa13 for the sp correction). Pope John Paul. They advocate peace, understanding, tolerance. Pat Robertson is not a religious leader. Not only does he not advocate the principles of religion, but as a so-called leader of Conservative Fundamental Thought, he inspires his "flock" to call for murder. And then in the white hot glow of the press's scrutiny, as he was questioned about his reference reegarding his call for the assassination of Venezuela's president, he lied. He lied to the reporter by denying it.

Now to me there's a HUGE difference between some idiot making farting noises on the radio and talking about anal sex, and a so called "leader" of a Chistian group going on TV and calling for the assasination of a head of state. The reprehensibility of this action is an insult to every American. This is an embarassment to the country and anyone who feels that the behavior he advocates is a moral outrage. This not only deserves condemnation from the president, but certainly deserves removal from the air waves. These are far from the vast majority of American's values; far more disgusting to me than Stern's base talk of anything anal.

And what response has the FCC delivered? None. I've heard nothing. In fact this was swept under the carpet so soon that it was almost frightening. What kind of people are controlling the FCC that this should be forgotten so incredibly fast?

This new dumbing of America is just another huge chunk chopped out of the very foundations of faith, Faith in the "American Way" by a Konservative ameriKa which is busy hacking and hacking.
Sterns departure was inevitable after his FCC facedown. It'd be a great day in America to see this bum dumped unceremoniously too.
